More than half the world's population already lives in cities today. Modern cities account for three-quarters of annual resource use, emit gigantic masses of greenhouse gases, and produce billions of tons of garbage. The lecture, specially designed for young city dwellers by Dr. med. Clara Brandi from the German Development Institute (DIE) examines the effects of these developments. Here, the young global rescuers deal with the consequences of urbanization and learn why something urgently needs to change. Under the guidance of the visual artist Folke Köbberling they develop their visions and build models for future cities.
